Harry R. Strong, 86, of Howland, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Hospice House in Poland. Harry was born February 10, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Harry L. and Elnora (Cleary) Strong. Harry worked for Hearn Paper Co. for 41 years as a warehouse supervisor, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Girard First United Methodist Church. Harry played football as a young man for the "Bone Crushers", a team from the Eastside of Youngstown, and were all lifelong friends. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former, Mary Ann Monroe, whom he married October 29, 1949, his daughters, Sherry A. (Daniel) Day of Niles and Kelly L. (Rick) Glembocki, of Hiram, Ohio, brother Leonard Strong, of Palatka, Fl., granddaughters, Kaitlin (Kris) Hodge and Abigail (AJ) Ruberto, and great-grandchildren; Brennen and Audrey Hodge and Isabella Ruberto. He is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Shearer, and brothers, Daniel and Robert. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 4th, 11:00 AM, at the Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 Market St., Girard, Ohio.
