Hazel M (Yeager) Boop

Hazel M. Boop , 97, of Girard, passed away on May 23, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown. Hazel was born April 8, 1920 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of Raymond and Gertrude (DeVille) Yeager. Hazel was a lifelong member of Churchill United Methodist. A homemaker, Hazel spent her life caring for others. She was a member of the Lady's Eagle Auxiliary #2172, the Slovene National Benefit Society and enjoyed frequenting the casino, playing BINGO and her puzzle books.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Patricia (Bill) Sidinger of South Carolina, Tim Kornbau of Girard, Robert (Peggy) Kornbau of Salem, and Susan Kifer of Girard, her sister; Janice Elliot of Salem, fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Lawrence L. Boop Jr., whom she married February 20, 1960 and died January 29, 1983, she is preceded in death by her son William "Butch" Kornbau, her sister Helen Ingram, and her brothers Roy Yeager and Chuck Yeager.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 PM until the time of the service.Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 30th at 7:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
