Helen A. (Ryan) Lovas

Helen A. Lovas, 93, of Niles, formerly of Girard, passed away on November 11, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. Helen was born October 5, 1924 in Mineral Ridge, the daughter of Elmer and Emma (Hubaur) Ryan. Helen was a member of St. Rose Church and Trumbull County Extention. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially preparing and cooking for holiday family gatherings and for many years enjoyed going to McDonald's, at McKinley Heights, every morning.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Gail (Bob) Anderson of Murrysville, PA,  and Bonnie (Dan) Malandro of Girard, brother John Ryan of Hubbard and grandsons; Mark, Scott, Eric and Justin, great-grandchildren,; Kelly, Noah, Kara, Elliot, Carley and Dylan and one great-great-granddaughter, Payton. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Elmer J. Lovas, whom she married March 8, 1943 and died October 30, 2013, her sisters, Anna Mae Wolfe and Betty Brown, brothers, Pete Ryan and James Ryan, Granddaughter Krissy and Grandson Ryan and a great-granddaughter Olivia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 16th, 12:00 PM at St. Rose Church preceded by a prayer service at 11:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:00 - 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Helen will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery next to her husband.
