Helen Mikulich, 95, of Girard, passed away peacefully on Friday April 19, 2019, at Hospice House in Poland. Helen was born November 17, 1923, in Girard, Ohio, the daughter of Marion and Mildred (Logan) Mikulich. Helen worked for over forty years for the New York Central, Penn Central and B&O Railroad, in the car record department, as a car exchange clerk. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and St. Rose Church. Helen had been a Girl Scout leader for Girard and McDonald. She was a member of the Railroad Retirement Club, the Girard Historical Society, St. Vincent DePaul of Warren, the Nationality Croatian Club #66, and their sing and dance group and orchestra. Helen sang in the choir for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and First United Methodist Church, the Niles singing group, and Girard Community Chorus. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Rosalie Mikulich, with whom she made her home, niece, Pam Wardle, of Mesa, Arizona and nephew, Mark Mikulich, of Girard. Also, Helen's friends, Virginia Granitto, Brian and Maureen Zuti, Jim and Bev Patrick and Martha Masternick. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, George Mikulich and sister-in-law Jean (Moss) Mikulich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 12:00 PM at St. Rose Church, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service, and also on Friday from 5-7 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home, in Girard. Helen will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery. The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
