Helen S. Polinsky, 88, of Girard, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 11, 2015 at her residence. Helen was born May 21, 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Maria Martin Popp. Helen had previously worked for Packard Electric, but for most of her life she devoted herself to being a wife and mother to her family. She was a member of St. Rose Church. Helen enjoyed going to Mountaineer and volunteered the Animal Welfare League in Trumbull County. She is survived by her children; Lorraine (Steven) Polinsky-Clark of Surprise, Arizona, Alex E. Polinsky Jr. of Chicago, Illinois and Ron (Geri) Polinsky of Girard, her sister Victoria Hale, grandchildren: Alex III, Christine, Lauren, Brian and Matthew and great-grandchildren Alex IV and Breen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alex E. Polinsky Sr., whom she married May 3, 1947 and died February 27, 2008, her sister, Mary Roman and brother Nicholas Popp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 15th, 11:00 AM at St. Rose Church, preceded by a prayer service at 10:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Helen will be laid to rest at Tod Homestead Cemetery next to her husband.
