Helen M. Virgillitti 99 of Girard , had fallen asleep in death peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in the presence of her loving family .Helen was born on July 3, 1919 in Girard Ohio The daughter of Edward and Mary (Carson)Baptist . Helen had worked as management for Lerner’s Department Store first in downtown Youngstown and then at the Eastwood Mall for 35 years till she retired at the age of 70. Helen was a member of The Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hubbard Ohio. Helen was baptized in 1958 at the International Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New York City . She remained a faithful Witness of Jehovah until she had fallen asleep in death .
Helen was a wonderful cook and an excellent baker , and her greatest joy in life was sharing in the ministry and spending time with her loving family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children Sally Hall and her husband Jack of Columbiana, Bill Milligan of Boardman, and John Milligan of Girard, her sister Marie Dikun, of McDonald. 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Milligan, and her second husband Sam Virgillitti . Her sons Floyd Milligan, Sam Milligan, sister Isabella Hodge, Ruth Sistilo , Josephine Morgan, and Dorothy Deveraux, and her brothers Johnny Baptist and Alex Baptist. Helen will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her,but it won't be long for her, just a short nap. Hoping we have the privilege of greeting her in the new world. Her strength , her energy and her will to live is her testimony to her life and love of God. Calling hours will be Friday, December 14th from 7 to 9 PM.
Saturday, December 15th Will receive relatives and friends from 10 AM to 11 AM with memorial services starting at 11 AM at the Blackstone funeral home at 672 Church Hill Rd., Girard, OH Helen will be laid to rest at the Girard City Cemetery, the family suggest any memorial contributions be made to: Jehovah‘s Witnesses worldwide ministry work, sent to the Hubbard Kingdom Hall P.O.
