Irene (Mihelich) Meser

Irene Meser (Mihelich) peacefully went to be with the Lord on September 3rd. Irene was born October 20, 1932, the daughter of Mary (Sinkovic) and Valentine Mihelich. She graduated from Girard and dedicated her life to being a great mother, wife, and grandmother. She was a talented musician and dancer who greatly enjoyed playing with her good friends in the Mahoning Valley Button Box Club. She enjoyed going to church, teaching her children about Jesus, and spending time with her loyal neighbors and friends. Irene truly appreciated the kindness of the members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and Word of God Christian Fellowship. She was a member of the Slovenian Lodge in Girard and enjoyed singing in Slovenian. She is survived by her children Mickey, Mary, John (Denise); very caring sister Louella and brother-in-law Marvin. Irene dearly loves her grandchildren Melissa, Renee, and Matthew. She was preceded into heaven by her loving husband Mike of 54 years, sister and friend Clara Weymer, aunt Emma Sinkovic, Zip Meser, nephew Bronco Serensky and his mother Millie. She cherishes her aunt Lilly Kozel and nephews Bob and Bill. She loves nieces and nephews Terri (Jim), MaryLou, Kelly (Ken), Dave Weymer, Paul (LouAnn) ; Clara’s husband Paul; Barb and Augie Angel; Sylvia, Jim, and John Meser; Sue and Jim Dreiling, Jack and Karen Tomaino, Jim and Marti Tomaino; Joe, Rich, Steve, and Tom Serensky;  Francine and Lawrence Hall. The family will receive visitors Sunday September 8th from 4-7 PM at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. On Monday September 9th, Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perptual Help Church (Ohio Avenue in McDonald). Reception will be held afterwards at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church hall. Then Irene will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery next to her husband Mike (300 North Raccoon).
