Jack D. Hunter, 89, of Weathersfield Twp., passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at his residence. Jack was born October 15, 1931, in Warren, Ohio, the son of John W. and Vida (Dennis) Hunter. Jack retired in 1991 from Packard Electric, as a supervisor, and had previously worked for Grinnell and Republic Steel, both in Warren, and had been a volunteer firefighter for Weathersfield Twp. He had served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. Throughout his life, Jack enjoyed camping, flying airplanes and was a stock car driver. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Shirley A. (Patterson) Hunter, whom he married April 30, 1955, his daughter, Cynde Hall, grandchildren, Jessica Hall, John Hall, and Joe Merwin, and great-granddaughters, Kirsten Merwin and Gia Andujar. Besides his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his sons, John D. Hunter and John W Hunter, and his brother, Bruce Hunter. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 18th, 1:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home, in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends from Noon until the time of service. Due to the current health conditions, face masks are required and please practice social distancing. Jack will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery.
