James Carlos Blanton, 73 of Liberty Twp., passed away Wednesday September 16, 2015, at the Hospice House in Poland. He was born April 13, 1942, in Youngstown, the son of the late Carlos and Mildred Dawes Blanton. He was a US Veteran in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Jim worked for Youngstown Sheet & Tube and Polaris Technologies in Austintown retiring in 2008. He is survived by his children Judee (Owen Reppert) Davenport of Rome, Georgia, and Cody Blanton, of Liberty Twp., sister Eva Orechoneg of Poland, two grandchildren, Ashley Hatcher of Girard and Courtnee Pope of Maryland and two great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Elijah. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former, Vicki Arnold. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 27th, 4:00 PM, at Blackstone Funeral Home, in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
