James L Romandetti Sr.

James L. Romandetti Sr., 84, of Liberty Twp., passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Jim was born May 18, 1931, the son of Louis and Adeline Cataffa Romandetti. He retired after twenty years from J.V. McNicholas Transport Co., in Youngstown. Jim was a member of St. Rose Church and the American Legion Post #235. He was an Army veteran, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 62 years, Marcella Walczesky, whom he married February 22, 1954, his children; Kathy Morrison of Indianapolis, IN, Karen (Joe) Gatelaro of Columbiana, Marcy McQuary of Twinsburg and James Romandetti Jr. of Hubbard, Ohio, grandchildren; Jeff Truran, Jennifer Edmondson, Genevieve Morrison, Joe Gatelaro and Anna McQuary, great-grandchildren; Andrew, Juliana and Sophia, siblings; Josephine DeFiore of Corapolis, PA., and Anthony (Delores) Romandetti of Austintown. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Darlene, and brothers, Christy and Frank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 29th, 12:00 PM at St. Rose Church, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. James will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to St. Rose Church or Hospice of The Valley.
