Janice V. Welsh, 94, of Liberty Twp., formerly of Madison, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home.
Janice was born February 2, 1926 in Oakdale, Louisiana, the daughter of Richard and Hattie (Riley) Chelette. Janice had first worked as a grocery store clerk and then as a linotype operator and eventually retired as an elementary school baker in Madison, Ohio. She was a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church. Janice was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family, especially her apple pies and cinnamon rolls. She married Frank Gorsuch and lived in Madison, Ohio until he passed away in 1988. She then married William Welsh in 1991 and moved to Liberty Twp until his passing in 2017. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Frank M. (Jan) Gorsuch, of Liberty Twp., Victoria Feil, of Floresville, Texas, and Caroline McBride, her step children, Elaine (Tim) Rosenberger of Lakewood, Ohio and William C. Welsh of Austintown, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Due to the state of health conditions at this time, there will be a memorial service held at a later date for Janice. She will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Madison, Ohio next to her husband Frank.
