Jean E (O'Connor) Dillon

Jean E. Dillon, 88, of Girard, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Boardman. Jean was born August 8, 1927, in Alliance, Ohio, the daughter of the late Francis and Catherine Zink O'Connor. She had retired from Allen's Drug Town, as a clerk and manager, after 25 years. Jean was a member of St. Rose Church, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxillary, and the Girard Senior Citizens. She enjoyed her ladies card club and the Girard Couples Golf League. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Kenneth (Sandy) Dillon, of The Villages, Florida, Katherine (Douglas) Hoprich, of Salisbury, Maryland and Joyce (Mark) Carlozzi of Poland, sister Kathleen Houck of Niles, grandchildren; Mark (Dreama) Dillon, Brett (Abby) Dillon, Allison (Matt) Young, Erin (Dan) Gurtner, Amanda Leonard, Chana (Andrew) Emge, Mark Carlozzi, Lauren Carlozzi and Patrick Carlozzi, and five great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John G. Dillon, whom she married October 19, 1946 and passed away in 2002, and her sister Janice Emery. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 16th, 11:00 AM, at St. Rose Church, preceded by a prayer service at 10:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Jean will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery next to her husband.
