Jesse Lee Boles Sr., 90, of Liberty Twp., formerly of Girard, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Liberty Health Care Center.  Jesse was born March 2, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Charles and Blanche Boles.  Jesse served in the US Navy from 1943-1946. He served as a Pharmacist Mate, serving on Kodiac Island in Alaska. Jesse worked for over 30 years in the steel industry and retired from US Steel, Ohio Works, in 1981. He married "the girl next door" in 1948, Patricia Ruth Rounsley Boles, daughter of William and Evelyn Rounsley of Girard.  They were married for 57 years and she passed away in 2005. Jesse was a member of The American Legion, V.F.W., Army Navy, William Farr Masonic Lodge #672 of Girard, Scottish Rite of Youngstown, 32 Degree Mason and Knights Temple of York Rite.  Jesse was a member of The Girard First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Hall of Liberty. Jesse was instrumentally involved in raising his siblings, James, Robert, Richard, Nettie and Dorothy. Jesse leaves his five children, Jesse Boles Jr., Paula Gonsalves, William Boles, Lisa Long, Alan Boles and "The Outlaws, Sue Boles, Charles Achey, Kathy Boles and Lucille Boles", his private joke. Doug Long is deceased. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1st, 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Interment will follow at Girard City Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home, with a Masonic Service to be held at 8:00 PM.
