Joan was born in Niles, Ohio on August 10th 1942 in Niles, she was the daughter of David Tod Graham and Ethel Rebecca Robinson Graham.
Joan was a 1960 graduate of Girard High School, soon after she obtained a job from Ohio Bell as an operator and married her husband Robert H. England of Girard.
Her love of work led to becoming district manager of Deb Shops in Ohio. She also helped manage her family’s business, Kaplan in Girard, for many decades. In her later years she helped manage Sicilian Tanning in Liberty Township.
She served on the City of Girard Board of Health. She was the past President of the Girard City School PTA, and was a past member of Eastern Star in Girard. During Joan’s children’s school years she came up with the inception and implementation for young rock bands to come together and created a “We Can Jam” concert for them to perform for the city of Girard which was a great success! Joan was a member of the United Methodist Church and served on the Choir over her love of singing which had carried over from her high school days. She was a Reiki Master and an ordained Minister performing many marriages later in life. Joan’s passions were the outdoors including her favorite trips to Lake Erie and her horse, Terry.
Joan leaves her children, Catherine Joan (Larry Wilk) of Newton Falls, Robin Sue (Greg) Tagawa of Girard. Her Sister, Virginia (Pete) Wagner of Toronto. Her Grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Ross Martini and husband Dom of Girard, Brandon Michael Ross and his wife Marissa of Hopewell Township Pa, Joseph Bruno of Girard. And, a Great Granddaughter, Aurora Rose Martini
Joan was preceded in death by her parent’s Dave and Ethel, two sister’s Mary Graham and Carol Schellenger.
There will be no services or calling hours, and the family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
