JoAnn M. Orechoneg, 59, of Salem, formerly of Liberty Township, passed away Monday August 24, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman. JoAnn was born on May 10, 1961 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Ernest and Lucille (Costantini) Fortunato. She was a 1979 graduate of Liberty High School and graduated from Youngstown State University with an Associate Degree in Marketing and also an Associate Degree in Dietary. JoAnn was an excellent cook, and enjoyed exercising and watching the birds, especially cardinals. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Robert W. Orechoneg, whom she married September 14, 1991, her sons, Tyler (Michelle) Neff, of Kent,Ohio, Samuel Orechoneg,and Joseph Orechoneg, both of Salem, Ohio, sisters, Patty (Mickey) Perl, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Catherine (Rick) Hunkus, of Vonore, Tennessee. JoAnn is preceded in death by both her parents. Visitation will be held at Blackstone Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM. Family and friends who are coming to pay their respects are kindly asked to wear a face covering. Private funeral service will be held on Friday at the funeral home. JoAnn will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery. The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to the Joanie Adbu Breast Care Center.
