John Arthur Hidasy

John Arthur Hidasy Sr. 86, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday November 3, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital. John was born April 14, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Arthur and Katherine (Sacher) Hidasy. He worked for US Steel for 20 years in the shipping department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to Cook's Forrest with his friends to hunt. In his younger years, John enjoyed motorcycles.  John is survived by his sons, John (Maureen) Hidasy Jr., of Liberty Township, Richard (Laura) Hidasy, of Girard;daughters, Lisa (John) Dunchak of Souderton, PA., Lori (Dave) Stanish of Girard, and Sherry (Tim) Francis of Cortland; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his companion of thirty years, Barbara Anderson of Cortland, and his former wives; Fran Wilson of Girard and Carol Hidasy of Girard. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mona Rohrbaugh. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7th, 12:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. John will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
