John "Jack" Barnes

John “Jack” Charles Barnes, 85, of Girard, passed away on August 16, 2024, peacefully and went to be with his family that was waiting for him.

Jack was born May 17, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Eugene and Mary (Madden) Barnes.

Jack was a proud, hard working Foreman at Easco and other steel factories. He had a passion for golf and was proud of his 2 hole in one’s. He enjoyed golf leagues, coaching both his sons and daughter in baseball/softball and always tinkering around his home.

Jack leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Christine (Cardiero) Barnes; his children, John (Beverly) Barnes, Shawn (Becky) Barnes, Jackie Barone, and step son, Mark (Christine) Woodworth; his grandchildren, Corey Barnes, Tyler Barnes, Journey Barnes, Hope Carrozzi, Hannah (Keir) MacMillan and his great grandchildren, Dallas Barnes, Elly Carrozzi, Charlie Carrozzi and Addison Carrozzi; and his best buddy, Oscar.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William, Jimmy, Tery, Richard and sister Carol Novak.

Jack was funny, brave, giving and the strongest man to those who knew him. He will be missed immensely by his family. He truly was their superman.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21st, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 5:30 PM at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
