John L. Polish, 84, of Liberty Twp., died Sunday February 24, 2013 at Hospice House.  John was born November 6, 1928 in Youngstown, the son of the late Angelo and Essie Thomas Pulice. John worked for over 40 years at General Fireproofing as a tow motor operator.  Afer retiring he worked for Giant Eagle in Liberty Twp for over 15 years.  He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict as a Corporal.  He was of Catholic faith, enjoyed gardening and was known as the "garlic man", time with his family,playing the lottery and his dog "Katy".  He is survived by his daughter Debra (Philip Jr.) Tomko of Liberty Twp, grandchildren Kayla and Philip Tomko and Lori (Adam) Hromyak, and Barbara Horvath, five great-grandchildren Ignatius, Kalli, Johna, Scarlet and Alicen and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his wife, the former Katherine W. Ohle, whom he married Feb. 19, 1955 and died May 27, 2010, sister Rose Horney and brothers Anthony and Charles Pulice.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 27th, 7:00 PM at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard where the family will recieve relatives and friends from 5:00 until the time of service.  The family wishes to thank the following people for John's exceptional care, Dr. Michael O'Brien Jr., Mike from Hospice, Nicole Smith and Nancy Bartholomy, and especially his grandchildren Philip and Kayla Tomko.  Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view this obituary and to send condolences to the Polish family.
