John Slovasky, 93, of Girard, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2nd. He leaves his wife of 69 years, Theresa, and his three children: Stephen, Eleanor Rosselli (Dominic, Jr.), and Maribeth. His death also precedes his sister Mary Lou Luzar (Bill), five grandchildren (Dominic (Natalie) III, Anthony, Derrick, Katherine, William), and one great-grandchild (Arlo).

John was born on July 13, 1926 in Niles, Ohio. He served in the United States Navy in World War II and worked at U.S. Steel in McDonald, Ohio for 35 years. After the steel mill closed, he had his own wallpaper and painting business. Upon retirement from that, he was able to travel with his wife and visit his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed baseball.
John was a quiet soul with a huge heart and will be missed by all. His family is grateful for the many years he lived and know he is now at peace with his parents, siblings, and other family and friends.Heaven scores again.
