John "Jack" Zitnik

John R. "Jack" Zitnik, 90, of Girard, passed away on Saturday December 27, 2014 at Park Vista in Youngstown. Jack was born February 19, 1924 in Girard, the son of Michael and Mary Chatt Zitnik. Jack served in the Army during WWII. He was the owner and operator for the "Charles Shop" in Girard from 1937 -1989. He was a member of St. Rose Church, Pymatuming Yacht Club and Girard Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion Post #235. Jack enjoyed sailing, traveling and gardening. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former, Denise Allard, whom he married in 1965, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Charles and Edward Zitnik and his sisters; Virginia D'Agostino, Margaret Redmond, Magdeline Desimone and Dorothy Hannah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 31st, 12:00 pm, at St. Rose Church. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service at the church.
