Josephine N Forde

Josephine N. Forde, 90, formerly of Girard, died Friday December 6, 2013 with family by her side. She died as she lived "A gentle caring woman". She was born June 3, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Agnone Naples. Josephine graduated from Rayen High school in 1941 and Youngstown College Secretarial School.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority & was a violinist in the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. Josephine also belonged to a neighborhood card club for over fifty yrs. She worked as a Bookkeeper in the Finance Department at Syro Steel Company for 20 years retiring in 1989. A loving & caring wife, mother, grandmother, & great grandmother, she is survived by her husband Frank Forde whom she married July 14, 1945, children, Dr. Anthony A. Forde (Mary) of Brecksville, Ohio, Dr. Andrew A. Forde (Chris) of Hudson,Ohio Mary Jo Allen (Cliff) of Willoughby, Ohio and Francine Burke (Terry) of Avon Lake, Ohio, sister Antoinette Hutson of Toledo, brothers Ralph Naples of Hubbard, and Carmen Naples of Poland, Ohio. She leaves her grandchildren, Ryan, Michelle, Dana, Brittany, Nathan, Frank, Lauren, Amy, Jimmy, Marina & Cliff, along with great grandchildren, Rory, Beckett, Isabella & Nico.She leaves many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Her grandson, Frank Forde Allen, sisters, Carmel Curtin, Magdalene Acklin, and brother Dr. F. John Naples preceded her in death. A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held on Friday December 27, 2013 at 12:00 noon at St. Rose Church preceded by a prayer service at 11:30 am at Blackstone Funeral Home. Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 3-7 at the funeral home in Girard. Interment will  be held at Calvary Cemetery.
