Joyce Ann Glover

Joyce Ann Glover, 95, of Ravenna, formerly of Girard, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024 in the comfort of her nephews home Terry Montz.

Joyce was born August 8, 1928 in Edinburg, Ohio, a daughter to the late Edwin and Emma (Lozier) Given. 

After high school Joyce would further her education at Bohecker Business College in Ravenna. Upon graduation Joyce owned and operated Joyce’s Salon.

Joyce was a dedicated entrepreneur who poured her passion for beauty and style into her salon, where she not only showcased her talent but also created lasting connections with her clients. Her commitment to excellence and creativity was evident in every hairstyle she crafted and every conversation she shared.

She was a lifelong member of Girard First United Methodist Church where she served as a Trustee for two terms, was youth club table leader, and was a part of Lydia Circle for 17 years. She was also a member for 52 years at Easter Star and Girard Senior Citizens. 

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory her many nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Glover who she married June 22, 1947 and passed away March 26, 1992; sisters, Marcile Kuhar and Garnet Montz, Violet Smith and brothers, Bradley Given and Lowell Given. 

The family will receive relatives and friends at Blackstone Funeral Home on Friday July 19th from 11:00-1:00 with a service at 1:00. Joyce will be laid to rest with her husband at Girard City Cemetery. 

The Montz family would like to extend a special thanks to Liberty Arms Assisted Living for their wonderful care of Joyce while she was there and also Hospice of the Western Reserve for a job well done. The family would also like to thank Don Everett for his compassion towards the family.
