Joyce Lawrentz

Joyce L. Lawrentz, 92, of Girard, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 13, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Joyce was born March 22, 1932 in Hancock, Maryland, the daughter of Glen and Ruth (Barnhardt) Heller.

Joyce started her working career at J.C. Penney in Liberty Twp. She later worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. in the office, Tony Amendolara's Interior Designer and last with William Conti Interior Designer as an assistant.

She was devoted to her First Christian Church family, residing over the years as a Deacon, an Elder and a Trustee for the church. Her love for her church was shared by many friends she met and worshiped with over the years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Deborah Burlingham of Medina, Pamela Lawrentz of Liberty Twp., Douglas Lawrentz of Cortland and Michele (Bill) Moore of Brecksville, Ohio; grandson, Alexander Moore; and brother Gerald (Katherine) Heller of Southport, NC.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Leo C. "Bud" Lawrentz, whom she married March 17, 1951 and died March 17, 2017, and her twin sister, Joanne Davis.

Memorial Services, in memory of Joyce, will be held at the First Christian Church and will be announced at a later date.

She will be laid to rest with her husband at Belmont Park Cemetery.
