Julia B. Capogreco, 84, went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2016. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Julia was born August 8, 1931, in Carnegie, PA, a daughter of the late Bruno and Teresa (Sorboro) Pelle. Julia graduated from St. Luke High School in 1949 and went onto gradate from Business School of Pittsburgh in 1950. After moving to Girard, Ohio, she was married to Joseph Capogreco on May 25, 1957. In 1958 they moved into their first family home in Girard and have lived there ever since. Julie lived a rich and active life. She began her work life as a U.S. Government secretary and then a Buyer for Charles Shop in Girard; later she worked for Trumbull County Board of Elections. Julia served as a Girl Scouts Leader for many years, though her true passion was her work for the church. Julia attended daily mass at St. Rose Church in Girard. She held the office of President in the Catholic Women’s Club and participated in the church’s rosary group which she hosted at her home for many years. Throughout her life, Julia was a talented baker and seamstress. She loved the outdoors, often taking long walks and enjoying the park with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life and affectionately called her “Grandma Lea.” She loved attending their social and sporting events over the years. Julia will be forever remembered lovingly by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Capogreco; two daughters, Teresa Jennings of Girard, Jennine (Donald) Malone of Highland Heights; two sons, Marty (Becky) Capogreco of Miami, Florida, Bruno (Julie) Capogreco of Liberty Township; 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Aaron, Michaela, Jake, Joe, Emma, Chris, Alyssa, Brandon and Jordan; three sisters, Anna Schirripa of Carnegie, PA, Rose Trombetta of Bridgeville, PA, Fran Pelle of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Joe (Glenda) Pelle of Dallas, TX, Mickey Pelle of Charlotte, NC.
