June E. Davis, 90, of Champion, formerly of Girard, passed away February 5, 2015, at Windsor Place. June was born April 8, 1924 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Herbert R. and Ethel M. Taylor. June had previously worked for Lordstown Military Base for 8 years and Packard Electric in Warren for 5 years. She retired from the Vienna Air Base as a supervisors supply clerk in 1983 after 23 years. June was a long time member of First Christian Church in Girard and a member of NARFE. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Polly Ann Davis, of Hubbard, sisters Beverly Stewart of Southington, and Charlotte M. Miller of Windham, brother, Robert Hyden of Champion, a grandson, a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Davis, whom she married June 28, 1941 and died serving his country in WW II on December 6, 1944, her son Samuel H. Davis, and her brothers Herbert L. and Raymond W. Hyden. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 12th, at 12:00 pm at the First Christian Church. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:00 - 11:30 am at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. June will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery.
