Katherine Johan Byers, 94, McDonald, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Hospice House/Assumption Village. Katherine was born January 1,1922 in Warren, Ohio—the daughter of Robert E. and Tressa Belle Eustace. She worked as an LPN at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 30 years—and volunteered at Hospice, after retirement. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and Choir, Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart “Cinquanta Club,” Literary Guild, and Garden Club of McDonald. Katherine had a love of art—crafting, painting, and bead work, as well as being a seamstress. Preceded in death by her husband Eugene W. Byers—Married August 10,1946; who died October 17,1978—also a daughter; Kathleen Marie, grandson; Sean, brothers; Robert and James Eustace, sisters; Mary Teresa Onder, Bernadette Eustace, and Veronica Manofsky. Cherishing Katherine's memory are sons; Patrick (Cindy) Twinsburg, OH, Daniel (Jan) Parma, OH, Brian (LuAnn) Lakewood, OH, Brennan, McDonald, OH—and Grandchildren; Colleen, Conor, Bridget, and Brennan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 30, 12:30 PM, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, McDonald—Concelebrated by Fr. Daniel Kulesa, and Fr. Edward Brienz. A Prayer Service will precede the Mass at 12:00 PM—Blackstone Funeral Home, 672 Churchill Road, Girard 44420. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
