Kathryn Irene (Nimmo) Fennell

Kathryn Irene Fennell, 95, of Girard, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 9th, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Kathryn was born in Huntington, West Virginia on January 7, 1921. She married the love of her life, Richard Claude Fennell, on July 1, 1943, and they went on to celebrate 55 glorious years together before his passing in 1998. Kathryn was a member of Girard First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, traveling and, most of all, spending time with her family. She ran a small cake decorating business, and was a member of the Decorettes Cake Club, as well as, the Squaw Creek Gardening Club. She will be deeply missed by her brother, Kenneth Nimmo, her four children, Karen (Joseph) Winwood, David (Kim) Fennell, Susan Fennell and Jeffery Fennell, her 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by two sisters, and five brothers, and her two grandsons, Aaron and Cory Fennell. Funeral services will be held on October 14th, at 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 6-8 PM and also on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
