Lana Rae (Worley) Gerke

Lana Rae Gerke, 69, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital. Lana was born August 18, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late David and Dorothy Thomas Worley Jr. She had worked at General Electric in the Niles at the glass plant for 7 years as a packer and also for Easco Aluminum Co. in Girard for 7 years. She attended Church Hill United Methodist Church, enjoyed going to the Casino's and collecting Angels. She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Gerke Sr., whom she married Sept. 28, 1962 at St. Paul's Church in Monroe, Michigan, children Paul (Valarie) Gerke Jr., of Niles, Bettie (Thomas) Humphreys of McDonald, Catherine (Mitchell) Shank of Warren and David (Petey) Gerke of Columbus, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her best friend Carmel (Denny) Siciliano, who was like a sister to her. Lana is now in heaven with her parents and dancing with Elvis. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 1:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
