Lewis (Lou) Kenner, 84 of McDonald, OH passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Washington Square Nursing Home in Warren, OH after a courageous battle with cancer. Lou was born November 9, 1931 in Vandergrift, PA, the son of Arthur and Revennia Kenner. Lou proudly served his country in the United States Army. As a young man, Lou made the most important decision of his life by accepting Christ as his Savior and because of this we can find comfort in knowing that he is heaven, waiting on his friends and family to join him. Ensuring his children had this same opportunity was a very important part of his legacy and will be carried on for generations to come. Lou attended the Open Door Community Church in McDonald in the later years of his life. For many years, Lou operated as an independent aluminum siding and window contractor. Known for his uncanny construction skills, he enjoyed helping friends and family with their projects and his yearly visits to Houston knowing his children had a project waiting on him. These are some of the most precious memories they will cherish. Lou constructed his cabin in Cook Forest, PA and enjoyed spending time there. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and most importantly spending time with his family. Lou is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Kenner, who passed away in 1988 and his sister Audrey Wilkins. Lou is survived by his son Arthur and wife Brenda of Montgomery, Texas; his son Robert and wife Cena of Alvin, Texas; his daughter Barbara Iacobucci and husband Brian of Austintown, Ohio and daughter Wanetta Kenner, of Alvin, Texas; grandchildren Nicholas Iacobucci, Christopher Anderson, Meagan Grieco and Erin Kenner, his brother Sheridan Kenner of Girard and special friend Mrs. Dorothy Kish. The family would like to thank Pastor Art Nicolli of Open Door Community Church, the staff at Washington Square Nursing home, the Youngstown VA and Hospice of the Valley for their support and care of their father. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 30th, 1:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Lewis will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery beside his wife. Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view this obituary and to send any condolences to the family.
