Lois L. Battison, 82, of Liberty Twp., passed away Thursday September 20, 2012 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born February 25, 1930 in Kingwood West Virginia, the daughter of the late Christopher and Ruth Fisher Bowmar. Lois and her late husband John owned and operated The Spot Restaurant in Niles for 26 years. She is survived by her children, John H. (Denise) Bowers of Lumberport, WV; Sandra R. Brannon of Brookfield; Teena (James) Rogers of Liberty Twp.; Thomas E. (Carrie) Battison of Liberty Twp.; and Vicki (Albert) Bansky of Vienna, a step-daughter, Cher (Jeffrey) Zavik of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL; brother, Charles Bowmar of Arden, WV; sisters, Mary Lou Knotts of Belington, WV; Betty Poe of Philippi, WV; and Lydia McDaniel of Austintown, sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John E. Battison whom she married September 19, 1960 and passed away on March 3, 1998, a granddaughter, Juliann Battison and a step-daughter Sandra Lee Carter. Funeral Services will be held on Monday September 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
