Lorraine (Keefer) Sauce

Lorraine “Rainy” Sauce, 92, of Liberty Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2019, at Liberty Arms Assisted Living. Lorraine was born April 26, 1927, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of J. Warren and Maude (Charles) Keefer. Lorraine graduated from Liberty High School in 1945. She was a very active member of Church Hill United Methodist Church, the Altar Guild, and former Mother's Club of Liberty High School. Lorraine enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers, knitting afghans, reading, harvesting apples from the family orchard, and spending summers with family at Lake Erie. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Nora Lynn (Larry) Slimmer, of Liberty Twp, and Peggy Cortelle (Jack) Whitmore, of Brookfield; her grandchildren, John Warren (Lori) Slimmer, Jill (Scott) Matthews, Jenny (and Doogie); and great granddaughter Caitlin Matthews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Sauce, whom she married June 7, 1947 and died March 28, 2006, her daughter, Melody Sauce, and sister, Cortelle Keefer. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 26th, 1:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home, in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
