Lowell R. Miles Sr.

Lowell R. Miles, Sr., 95, formerly of Girard, went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 9, 2017 at Essex of Salem. Lowell was born January 27, 1922 in Girard, Ohio, the son of Walter and Nellie (Hake) Miles. He had worked for Ohio Leather Works for 25 years and retired from Copperweld after 15 years. He was an Army Air Corp veteran and served during World War II. Lowell was a member of the Open Door Community Church in McDonald. He leaves to cherish his memory his children;Karen (Pastor Art) Nicolli of Girard, Lowell "Rusty" (Frannie) Miles Jr. of Canfield, Tom (Char) Miles of Oveido, Florida, his grandchildren; Sheri (Jeff), Todd, Stephanie, Dana (John), Jennifer (Bryan), and his great children; Jeffrey, Jonah, Justin, Isabella, Todd Jr., Justine and Tori.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Donna June( Fynes) Miles, whom he married January 25, 1947 and died August 9, 2014, and his brother Raymond. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 11:00 AM, at Open Door Community Church in McDonald. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home, in Girard. Lowell will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery, next to his wife.
