Lucille B. Altiero, 91, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday August 26, 2014 at the Hospice House. Lucille was born Dec. 23, 1922 in Girard, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Rose Lorenzo Brine. She was a 1940 graduate of Girard High School and worked as a clerk for the Trumbull County Courthouse after graduation. She retired in 2004 after 32 years as an administrative secretary for the Girard City Schools Board of Education. She was a dedicated member of St. Rose Church where she was a member of Kof C Ladies Auxillary, Mt. Carmel Society, Altar and Rosary Society, Parish Council and National Council of Catholic Women, and had held many offices for each organization. She had also been a member of Girard Junior Women's League, the Oblate Sisters Cinquanta Club, head of St. Rose School Cafeteria and the school's bus program. She is survived by her children, James J. Altiero Jr. of Girard, Lynda (James) Markos of Boardman, Roselyn (Dr. Richard) Ragozine of Girard and Kenneth M. (Ruthanne) Altiero of Poland, grandchildren Jimmy (Lynda) Markos, Lindsay (John) Webber, Vincent (Tami) Ragozine, Paul Ragozine, Adam (Leah) Altiero, Audra Ragozine, Ashley Altiero and Lisa Ragozine, great-grandchildren Vinnie, Arianna, Helena, Amelia and Adrian, sister Mary Lou Vince of Liberty, brother Louis (Ruth) Brine of Girard, Goddaughter Maureen Portwood, who will be singing for her mass, and her beloved dog Charlie. She is preceded in death by her husband, James J. Altiero Sr., whom she married June 28, 1945 and died Sept. 26, 1995 and brother-in-law Joseph "Bud" Vince. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 30th, 10:00 AM at St. Rose Church, preceded by a prayer service at 9:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Lucille will be laid to rest at Pineview Cemetery.
