Lynn R. Reams, 79, of Girard, died Monday January 21, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  He was born January 21, 1934 in Rockford, Iowa, the son of the late John and Irene Metz Reams.  Lynn was a 1951 graduate of Nora Springs High School  and graduated from Youngstown University in 1967.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953-1957. Lynn taught in area schools and retired from Maplewood Local Schools in 1991. He particularly enjoyed participating in the Vindicator Spelling Bee and YSU English Festival. Lynn was a member of St. Rose Church and was active in OEA, NEOTA and MEA. He enjoyed little league coaching, traveling, reading and puzzles. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan.  He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Susor whom he married June 18, 1978, children, Timothy Reams of Texas, Lynn Reams II of Girard, Robin (Patrick) Jones of Tennessee, Bernadette Reams of Texas and Robert Reams of Girard, step-daughter, Monica Rea of Girard, sister, Lois Bull of Illinois, three brothers, Gilbert Reams of Arizona, Kenneth and Danny Reams of Iowa, nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his brother Larry Reams and infant grandson. A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held on Friday January 25, 2013 at 9:30 am at St. Rose Church, preceded by a prayer service at 9:00 am at Blackstone Funeral Home. Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.  A Military Service will be held at Girard City Cemetery. Material contributions can be made to Girard Baseball Association. The family would like to thank Dr. Buccino and Dr. Chahine and there staff for their care and compassion.
