Mara (Medved) Markulin

Mara Markulin, 82, of Youngstown, died Friday April 20, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  Mara was born June 22, 1929 in the Republic of Croatia, a daughter of the late Marko and Kate Medved.  She moved to the United States in 1971, was a member of STS. Peter and Paul Church, and enjoyed gardening and cooking.She is survived by her children Luka (Danica) Markulin of Liberty Twp, Ivan (Katarina) Markulin of Mentor, Ohio, Jana (Boze) Strikic of Macedonia, Ohio and Mary Markulin of Youngstown, grandchildren Luka and Daniel Markulin, christina and Mark Markulin and Bozidac & Adriana Strikic.  Preceded in death was her husband, Mijo Markulin, a sister and a brother. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday,10:30  AM at STS Peter and Paul Church on Covington St. in Youngstown, preceded by a prayer service at the Blackstone Funeral Home at 9:45 AM.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5-7PM at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Belmont Park Cemetery.  To view this obituary and to send condolences to the Markulin family, visit www.blackstonesfh.com .
