Margaret "Peg" Altaffer, 85, of McDonald, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. Peg was born June 2, 1935 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Fred and Kathryn (Hoffman) Myers. She was a graduate of McDonald High School and worked for Packard Electric for over 30 years. Peg was a former Sunday School teacher for Woodland Park United Methodist Church in McDonald. Family meant everything to Peg and was very important to her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and entertaining her family and friends with her amazing parties that she had. Peg was an organizer and loved to keep a clean house. She enjoyed beach vacations with her sissy and the golden girls. She will be remembered as a loving devoted, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. Peg leaves to cherish her memory her children, Robert J. (Denise) Altaffer of McDonald, and Traci (Bill) Yuhasz of Niles; sister, Kathy Myers of McDonald; brother, Timothy (Pat) Myers of McDonald; grandchildren, Amie Altaffer, and RC (Danielle) Altaffer; and great grandchildren, Addison and Scarlett. Besides her parents Peg is preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. "Chuck" Altaffer, who she married September 2, 1955 and passed away September 13, 2006; sisters, June Stevens, Ethel Coles, Judith Ann Myers, and Sandra Lynn Myers; and brothers, Fred and Ted Myers. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 14th, 6:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 PM until the time of service.
