Mark A McCarthy

Mark A. McCarthy, 62, of Canfield, passed away on Monday August 25, 2014 at Hospice House. Mark was born August 18, 1952 in Youngstown, the son of Thomas and Lois Arens McCarthy.  Mark had retired in 2009 after 30 years as a heavy equipment operator for Niles Power Plant.  He attended St. Rose Church and served his country as a Marine Veteran during Vietnam.  Mark enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping and loved spending time in Florida.  He is survived by his parents of Liberty Twp., brothers; Thomas (Doreen) McCarthy of Boardman, Michael (Carol) McCarthy of Liberty, Rick (Cindy) McCarthy of Lake Orion, Michigan, John (Sue) McCarthy of Lake City, Florida, Kevin (Andrea) McCarthy of Hubbard and Frank (Lisa) McCarthy of Milan, Ohio, sisters; Janie (David) Nist of Liberty, Kathy (Steve) Sepesy of Berlin Center, Mary Jo (Bill) Ciccotelli of Liberty and Theresa (Karl) Hamilton of Bradenton, Fl. and many nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 29th, 11:00 AM at St. Rose Church, preceded by a prayer service at 10:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.  Mark will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery with military honors.  The family requests any material contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley.  Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view his obituary and to send any condolences to the McCarthy family.
