Marlene Jean Mansfield Tobin, 76, formerly of Liberty Twp. and currently from of Girard, died peacefully Sunday, December 23, 2012 at “Hospice of the Valley” Hospice House. She was born August 20, 1936 in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of Russell M. Mansfield and Loraine Fleming Mansfield Ballsih Remmele. She formerly worked as a butcher in the meat department for Loblaw’s on Belmont Avenue and also did Private Duty in Home Care in later years. She was a member of the Churchill United Methodist Church in Liberty Twp. and was also a member of the Jewish Community Center. Marlene enjoyed spending time with her friends, visits with her grandchildren and family, going to the movies and out for dinner with her friends, shopping, traveling, crafts and craft shows, crocheting and reading. She leaves to cherish her memory a son Thomas L. Tobin of Youngstown, two daughters, Linda S. (Jeffrey) of Boardman and Francine M. (William) McKain and her two dear grandsons, Connor D. and Bryce W. all of Mt. Lebanon, PA. Marlene also leaves a sister Susan (Donald) Boughner of McDonald and a brother Russell “Pat” (Maggie) Mansfield of Girard, as well as many nieces, nephews, sisters/brothers in-law, her very near and dear special friends Shirley Wittanauer, Renate Stoudt and Rozanne Giampietro all from the Mahoning Valley and a long time grade school friend Glenna Wilkes, of CA. She was predeceased in death by her husband Francis J. Tobin whom she married on August 27, 1952 and passed away February 24, 1989, brothers Larry W. Mansfield (who passed away July 8, 2012), Dennis W. Mansfield, brother Frank Ballish, nephew Bruce W. Mansfield, nieces Cheryl Ann Tobin Coman and Mary Grace Boughner and her stepmother Grace Howley Mansfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 27th at Blackstone’s Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM, the Churchill Rd. (route 304) location in Girard. Services will be held Friday, December 28, 2012, 11 AM at the funeral home and conducted by Rev. Dave Gilbert. Interment will take place at The Belmont Park Cemetery in Liberty Twp. The family requests that material contributions be made to the local branch of “Hospice of Valley” Hospice House.
