Marvin V. Hamilton, 82, of McDonald, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at his residence. Marvin was born May 28, 1933 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the son of the late Alva E. and Mildred A. Romesburg Hamilton. Marvin retired in 1993 after 30 years as a security officer for General Motors. He served his country during the Korean Conflict, in the Army, as a medic. He was a member of Four Mile Run Christian Church, Argus F&AM #545 Masonic Lodge of Canfield and was a lifetime member of V.F.W. #4922 of McDonald. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. Marvin married,the former, Edna P. Eddy, on November 28, 1953. After 48 years of marriage, Edna died on September 26, 2002. He is survived by his sons, Randall B. (Cindy) Hamilton of Valencia, CA, and Rodney B (Linda) Hamilton of Canfield, sister, Joy Lee Boone of Katy, West Virginia, four grandchildren; Ryan (Sarah) Hamilton of Canfield, Krista Hamilton of Newton Falls, Blake Hamilton of Coventry, CT. and Kelsey (Jamie) Buehler of Aiken, SC, a great-granddaughter Sophia Buehler, and his special lady friend, Ruthie Snovak, of Youngstown. He is preceded in death by his son, Marvin V. Hamilton II and his brother Alva T. Hamilton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24th, 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Interment will follow at Girard City Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 6-8 PM with a Masonic service held at 8:00 PM.
