Michael "Moose" Kolic

Michael N. "Moose" Kolic, 53, of Girard, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. Michael was born June 28, 1962 in Warren,Ohio, the son of Thomas and Josephine Sabino Kolic. Michael was a 1980 graduate of Girard High School and a member of St. Rose Church. Michael worked as a drug counselor for many years, helping many kids and speaking at numerous schools in the area. He took over his father's sports article," Kolic's Korner" for the Review Newspaper, writing about local athletics and former athletics. He was very involved at Girard High School with all the sports activities, especially football. Michael was devoted to his family, he would help anyone that he could, and loved animals, especially his two dogs. He is survived by his mother, Josephine, with whom he made his home, his brother, Thomas S. Kolic of Niles, his nephew, Thomas A. Kolic and niece Christina M. Kolic. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas, and his grandparents; Stephen and Helen Kolic and Neal and Mafalda Sabino. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 26th, 11:00 AM at St. Rose Church. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-8 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
