Mike A DeConcilus

Mike A. DeConcilus, 83, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his residence.  Mike was born March 8, 1931 in Naples, Italy, the son of Nicholas and Minnie Carolla DeConcilus.  Mike retired from US Steel McDonald Works after 30 years, working as a loader at the slag crusher.  He was a member of St. Rose Church and the American Legion Post #235 in Girard. Mike was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed hunting and gardening.  He was an Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Elizabeth "Betty" J. Lukachinsky, whom he married August 16, 1954, his son Michael (Debi) DeConcilus of Girard and his daughter Darlene (John) Lischak of New Philadelphia, Ohio, sisters; Frances Gulino of Uniontown, Pa. and Elizabeth Davis of Somerset, Pa., and grandchildren; Christopher, Jonathan and Jessica. He is preceded in death by his sister, Sadie Hencle and brother Louis DeConcilus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 7th, 12:00 pm at St. Rose Church in Girard, preceded by a prayer service at 11:30 am at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
