Mildred "Millie" Rezek

September 16, 1934 — December 29, 2020

Mildred T. Rezek, beloved wife and mother, passed away at Humility House, Austintown, with her loving husband and two daughter by her side, on December 29th from complications of dementia.

Millie, as she was known, was born on September 16, 1934, to Helen (Tobias) and Joseph Jansov. She was a 1952 graduate of East High School and the Choffin School of Cosmetology. On October 15, 1955 she married the love of her life, Del Rezek, and they were blessed to share 65 years together. She worked at General Fireproofing and quit in 1964 to be a full-time wife and mother, her favorite roles and the ones she did with great love and devotion.

She went back into the workforce when her daughters were grown and retired from Banc One in 1997. She was a member of St. Rose Church, and SNPJ Lodge #643, all of Girard, Ohio.

Millie loved to cook for her family and bake. Her Santa Claus cake and clothespin cookies were highly sought after during the holidays. Her cookies graced many cookie tales at weddings throughout the years! She loved doing crafts, ceramics, and traveling to Mountaineer to play the slot machines. In fact, her first (and only) trip on an airplane was to Las Vegas on her 60th birthday. Millie also loved music and loved to polka dance. She traveled with her husband and his polka orchestra whenever possible.

Most of all, Millie loved being a grandma. "Bubba" Millie, as she was affectionately known, cherished her five granddaughters, Isabella and Gabriella Pasqualucci, and Samantha, Lindsay, and Allison Jones. She spent countless hours babysitting, reading, playing Barbies, Play-doh, and doing puzzles.

Besides her husband Del and her five granddaughters, she leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter Susan and son-in-law Dan Pasqualucci, daughter Sally Jones, sister-in-law Sylvia Janosov, niece Mary (Matt) Miller, and two great nephews, Xander and Paxton Miller. Besides her parents, a brother, Bob Janosov, preceded her in death.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Humility House for taking such good care of Millie for the past 3 years.

The family requests any material contributions b made to the Humility House Activity Fund, as Millie enjoyed all the activities and music that Humility House provided. The music especially would always bring a smile to her face!

The family will receive friends and family at Blackstone Funeral Home, Churchill Rd. Girard, Ohio on Sunday, January 3rd from 5-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Millie's life, will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 4th at St. Rose Church in Girard, Ohio. Social distancing will be in place and masks will be required.
