Mildred Thomas

Mildred Thomas, 87, formerly of Girard, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center. She was born February 1, 1928 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Braho Ratvasky. Mildred devoted her life to family, raising her children, enjoying her grandchildren, and had a special compassion for seeing to the needs of others.  She enjoyed walking, reading and had a special interest in birds. She is survived by her children; Karen (Homer) Wiland of Canfield, Linda (John) Holloway of North Lima, and Jeff (Wendy) Thomas of Boardman, sister, Helen Gargescz of New Castle, Pa., brother Thomas Ratvasky of New Castle, Pa., eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Thomas, whom she married October 4, 1952 and passed away on November 5, 1996, sisters; Mary Trott and Anna Sagenich, and brothers; George, Andrew and John Ratvasky. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 9th, 6:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4:00 PM until the time of service.  Mildred will be interred at Girard City Cemetery.
