Nancy H. Santagata, 93, of Sanford, Florida, formerly of Girard, passed away Monday July 21, 2014 in Sanford Florida. She was born March 25, 1921 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Anthony and Carmela Pagano Trina. Nancy was a member of St. Rose Church and the Democratic Women's Club. In addition to her love of family, Nancy enjoyed cooking and dancing. Nancy leaves to mourn' her passing, daughter, Carmel (Wylie) Carter, son Frank (Jan) Santagata, grandchildren, Michael Yarvi of Las Vegas, Eric (Amanda) Cross of Sanford, Fla., Ted (Emily) Santagata of Gahanna, Ohio and Natalie Santagata, great granddaughter, Mia Santagata of Copley, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Santagata whom she married September 25, 1940 and passed away August 18, 1997, brothers, Paul and Guy Trina. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday July 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Rose Church preceded by a prayer service at 10:30 am at Blackstone Funeral Home. Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Nancy will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery.
