Norma Jean Fitch

Norma Jean Fitch, 84, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Liberty Healthcare Center. She was born November 30, 1933 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Edmund and Marie (Neuman) Leepard, and was a lifelong area resident.

Norma graduated from McDonald High School in 1951 as a member of the National Honor Society and attended Youngstown Business College. Early on she worked in the accounting department of William L. Reali, CPA & Associates and later at Syro Steel Co. as assistant to the Credit Manager for 22 years, retiring in 1991.

She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was currently an active member of Church Hill United Methodist Church and the weekly Bible Study. She was a member of the Cortland Community Concert Band, the Saxon Club, the Warren Civic Chorus, the Warren Women's Connection, and a former volunteer for Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She faithfully read her Bible, loved spending time with her family and friends, going to Yoga and especially playing flute with the band each week. For many years she played violin at local churches, and other events.

Her husband, John R. Fitch preceded her in death on April 6, 2004. She is survived by her son, Todd Edmund (Lora) Getts of Hubbard, step-daughters, Mary (William) Carney of Poland, and Kathryn (Richard) Harasyn of Girard, step-son, Francis Fitch of Warren,  grandchildren, Joshua, Kristina, and Melissa Getts, step-grandchildren, Macsen (Renee) Harasyn, and Pamela Harasyn of Columbus, and two great-granddaughters. Norma loved and appreciated her many friends, some life-long, and her granddaughter, Melissa, who gave her "special" time and love.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 11:00 AM, at Church Hill United Methodist Church. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Norma will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery. The family requests any memorial contributions be made to Church Hill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill-Hubbard Rd.
