A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on April 30th 10:30 AM, at St. Rose Church, Girard for Norma Elaine (Barbini) Lucas.
Norma was born April 24, 1938, in Youngstown, a daughter of Aldo and Helen (Brindiar) Barbini and lived her whole life in Girard and was a member of St. Rose Church.
Norma was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Girard Band Boosters, a member of NAPVI (National Association of Parents of Visually Impaired Children). She was employed in the Social Services office at St. Elizabeth’s as Secretary for 3 ½ years and had various other part-time employment.
Norma had been working part-time at Retina Associates of Cleveland since 2001.
She was co-founder of Special Needs Information Center (SNIC), a volunteer resource center for families of special needs children, which was in existence for approximately 12 years.
Norma graduated Girard High School in 1956, where she was elected National Honor Society.
She was a member of the Girard Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and served as Vice President and Treasurer and was very active with her husband, Bill, in the Knights of Columbus.
She is survived by her son, Mark and wife Karen of San Marino, California, son Gary of Girard, Ohio, two grandchildren, Xavier and Emily, and Tammy Lucas of Girard, Ohio who blessed her with the love of a daughter she never had.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Lucas whom she married October 10, 1959, and her parents Aldo and Helen Barbini.
