Olga C. Hoier, 97, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Casa de la Luz Hospice of Tucson. Olga was the daughter of Walter and Mary Ann King Cooper, born February 27, 1918, in Brithdir, S. Wales, United Kingdom, and moved to America in 1927. She had worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Paul Krupko in McDonald for 25 years, and retired from working for Dr’s. David and John Delliquardi in Girard. Olga was a member of the First Baptist Church in Girard, the Eastern Star Lodge, and the Girard Literary Club. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Sue (and Jim) Opeka of Tucson, Carol (and Wes) Choc of Tucson, and Dave Hoier of Normal, IL; six grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis C. Hoier, whom she married on August 22, 1942, and who died November 25, 1987, and her sister and brother-in-law, Moira and Bob Collins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 9:00 AM till time of service. Olga will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery.
