Patricia R. Slabe, 94, formerly of Liberty, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, at Keystone Pointe in Lagrange, Ohio. She was born on January 6, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter to Marvin and Stella (Thomas) Host.
Patricia received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and started her professional life as a registered nurse for Dr. Chalker and later at Cafaro Hospital. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Girard and Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Her commitment to caring for others was evident not only in her career but also in her relationships with family and friends.
In addition to her professional achievements, Patricia engaged joyfully in various hobbies that brought her happiness and fulfillment. She was an enthusiastic square dancer, enjoyed painting, and found comfort in knitting.
Patricia is survived by her loving children, Pamela J. (Terry) Mazzone of Wellington, Ohio, William H. (Renee) Slabe Jr., of Eastlake, Ohio and Bradley (Mary) Slabe, of Youngstown, Ohio. She took immense joy in her family, and her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply.
Patricia is reunited again by her husband William H. Slabe Sr. who she married June 4, 1955 and loved faithfully until his passing on December 27, 2016. She is also preceded in death by her son, Mark Slabe, and her sister, Jean Taylor.
Patricia's warm presence and inspiring compassion will remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Funeral Service will be held at Blackstone Funeral home, with Pastor Carl Busse officiating, on Monday, December 9th, at 12:30, with calling hours being held an hour prior to the service. Patricia will be laid to rest at Churchill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to American Cancer Society or Alzheimers Association in Patricia's memory.
