Paula P Glass

Paula P. Glass, 57, of Girard, left this world to be with Jesus on  Monday December 30, 2013, at the Hospice House after a lengthy battle with cancer.  Paula was born on June 17, 1956, the daughter of Paul and Rose Glass of Girard.  She graduated from Girard High School in 1975.  During her lifetime, she was employed by Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Niles, by a local store, and by SCOPE of Warren.  She LOVED baseball, and hardly ever missed a Scrappers game.  She was also a bowler with a Girard league, and attended Bible Studies in Girard.  Paula was a student of history, and she and her boyfriend, J.R. Thornsberry, took many trips to study historical sites, such as Gettysburg.  Paula is survived by her sister Judi Glass of Girard, her brother Robert Glass and his wife Janine of Chicago, a nephew Nick Glass, and her beloved daughter Rosalee Marie Furr of Girard who is married to Steven Furr.  The light of her life was her grandson Blake, who was born on August 7, 2013.  Our wonderful mother, companion and friend will be sadly missed.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday January 3rd from 6-8PM at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4th, 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Girard.  The family requests any material contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley in Paula's memory.  Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view this obituary and to send condolences to the Glass family.
