Philomena Pemberton, 92, of Girard, passed away on Saturday March 24, 2012, at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio after a long and happy life. Philomena was born August 9, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of James and Josephine Pasquine of Italy. She was a homemaker all of her life, taking great pleasure in cooking and baking. Philomena was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Douglas Duer, who was killed in the Batttle of The Bulge during W.W.II and also her second husband, Wren Pemberton,a sister Rose Fotia and brother Anthony Pasquine. She leaves to cherish her memory a son Jack L. Duer and wife Diane of Youngstown, a daughter Marjorie Duer Pemberton of Girard, grandchildren Jack D. Duer and wife Stacey of Girard, Denise Siefert and husband Bob of Niles and their child, her great-granddaughter, Caitlin. There will be no services or visitation. The family requests that material contributions take the form of donations to the Hospice House of Poland, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
